Applications are invited for the post of External Visiting Lecturers, Diploma in Psychological Counselling – 2026
Applicants are invited from suitably qualified persons relevant to the Diploma in Psychological Counselling Programme conducted by the Distance and Continuing Education Unit (DCEU)of the University of Ruhuna.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:
A minimum one-year diploma in Counselling or Psychological Counselling, together with a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or an equivalent or higher qualification in a relevant discipline.
2. Professional Experience:
At least one year of practical experience in a relevant field, such as psychiatry, psychology, counselling psychology, or professional counselling.
3. Relevant Teaching Areas:
Applicants should indicate their subject expertise and the course units they are willing and qualified to teach, particularly in the following areas:
- Counselling Techniques
- Ethics and Professional Practice in Counselling
- Religious Counselling, particularly Hindu and Christian approaches to counselling
- Counselling Skills
Suitably qualified persons in the above fields are kindly requested to tender their self-prepared CV, including academic qualifications and experience relevant to teaching and research in the above fields of Psychological Counselling. Certified copies of certificates relating to educational and professional qualifications. The names and contact details of two non-related referees who can provide professional or academic references. A letter of permission from the Head of the Department or the relevant institutional authority, where applicable, if the applicant is employed at another institution.
